Welcome back. I had a new idea for my costumes. Sometimes I swear I'm going to die from old age before I can finish them all. But, at least I'll go out in style.

I was watching a documentry today that reminded me of an incident this morning. One lady had created a dress and posted it out for the world to see. I commented on how I liked it and how unique it was. She replied with a whole slew of comments saying I was "jealous" of her and how I was out to steal all of her stuff. Short of a medical condition I was at a loss at how to explain this type of behavior short of paranoia and perhaps envy. Jealousy is the fear of losing someone you care for to someone else. Envy is someone having something that you want and don't want them to have. As I'm trying to start up my own little sewing shop this got me to thinking. Why are these people so paranoid and envious? What purpose does it serve? Why is it so terrible to make friends with someone else who sews? Guard secrets so firmly that even on your deathbed you will refuse to give them up to your only living relatives? I can understand keeping some things under wraps but why lash out at people who say something looks nice? It seems like a great way to get rid of people. But then my ex-boyfriend complained I had an iron will and a terminal case of "nice." Maybe it's carry over from a past life in the Edwardian era? When I was Anita she saw a lot of cattiness among things like that. **Shrug** Envy is that one thing that we just can't seem to get rid of. Many people have tried to "kill" it but it often fails. Perhaps it is hard wired into our brains. In some cultures some form of envy is considered "good" because people are expected to use it productively. Instead of trying to tear down and harm the person they are expected to improve themselves. It only becomes "bad" when it's taken to the extreme. In some parts of the world after complimenting a person on what they have the complimenter is expected to say "So God wills" to show that they're not envious. We steal, lie, and tear down because of envy. It's like saying to get the best house on the block is by burning down everyone else's. It mentions nothing of doing repairs or things to enhance the house. Nope, burn it down....and never reveal how to sew on a button to your own grand children. Not even on your death bed. It's funny how green and yellow are considered the colors of life. Plants, the sun... And yet it's also the colors of envy. I don't know if we will ever be able to officially "kill" envy as it seems to be hardwired into our systems. All we can try to do is try to improve it. Try to better ourselves. ....And never forget that you can't teach your child how to sew on a button on your death bed.

The groveling...I hear lots of it. I'm going to be on my death bed still making these costumes! I still want to be an Irish pirate for the Renaissance faire and I've been wanting to make Eowyn's green gown for eons. I promised a friend that I would make it in green. I had lots of groveling asking me to make Arwen's mourning gown. www.costumersguide.com/mourning.shtmlI'm an Eowyn fan girl myself and never gave it any thought. I might make Arwen's mourning dress if I can squeeze it in somewhere. See if I choose to where it anywhere too. This is the Eowyn dress I want to make. www.costumersguide.com/eowyn_green.shtml

The Costumes was so beautiful in that movie. I know if anyone will be able to pull off making those gowns possibly even more incredible it will be you. Yes that dress is Elvish and must be green. One of my favorite movies That and Labyrinth.

I am always in awe of someone who can really sew. I can patch something simple like when part of the seam comes out. I use double thread with a knot,lol...and there is always the chance of getting my finger sewn up with... if I can see to thread the needle! Cladd you seem to ooze creativity...and u must have the patience of Jobe. I have made a few pillows and felt such satisfaction at my efforts, so I can only imagine how u feel when u hold up a finished product.

Actually by nature I'm an impatient person. With the things I want to make it's, "I want to make them now!" My problem is the lack of money which I'm working on saving up. After the Ren. Faire I can start up again. My grandma taught me to sew when I was eleven. I made my first human sized costume at sixteen and it's gone from there. I have an idea on how to make them. I know in the movie they didn't have the princess seams or darts but I'll have them in mine for a more flattering and better fit. I wanted to add that the seed has been planted in the back of my mind for this costume. It would be fun to wear at the faire. www.costumersguide.com/chase.shtmlThe actual dress is made out of synthetic suede. I'm going to buy a swatch to see how it holds up. If that fails I might go with velvet or a sturdy cotton or twill. As when the faire rolls around here it's either really hot or really rainy. There's almost no inbetween. Ah, life in a desert area... Just for practicality I might make the gloves out of cotton or buy a pair and dye them.

I got a haircut and eyebrow wax sunday! It feels better and looks better. I am letting my hair grow out a little, had it short for the summer. My hair is thin but grows fast, so just got it shaped up. I am thinking about putting pale blond highlights to help my hair grow out to its predeominant color (was dark brown, now mainly, GREY- ugh!) If I could have cool metalic silver hair with white highlights, I could handle that. But just grey??? oh no... I am not an old lady just yet...44 is pushing it, but... What do you guys think about the silver/blond thing? Haley Berry as Storm's silver hair is one example and a pic gypsy has is perfect. I think its in witches section on forum. That would be awesome. I am sick of dying my hair brown every six weeks or longer and having a skunk line down the middle of my head, lol!

Good luck with it! Man, those phishers just don't give up. So far in three days I've gotten six messages from them saying "Yahoo will delete any inactive accounts..." and they want your user name, password, country, and so on. Yahoo or any of them won't ask you for your password. It's all a phishing scam. This morning I couldn't log into Yahoo mail because it kept on trying to refresh the page and finally said it was done doing that. It really freaked me out wondering if we had a virus or something there. I deleted all the cookies, temporary internet files, and so on in hopes of that fixing the problem. So far it has. **Fingers crossed** Maybe the browser just got stuck in a loop?
