This I find really weird the American Athiest league finds it offensive that along the Utah freeway systems there are Markers for Highway patrol officers who died in the line of Duty. There plane white cross with the Beehive symbol on them, Thats the state symbol. So they took the state to court and judge ruled to remove the Crosses at once. The American Athiest League's head founder was in Fox News this morning he said he wants a obelisks to be put instead of the cross cause he said an obelisk is not a religious sign. I am so offended by all of this I could just scream. 1. 98% of the men who died in Utah that were officers were Mormon. Mormon's do not use the cross even on there temples they didnt see it as a religious sign so it never offended them. They used the cross as a marker of where the loved one died. 2. Obelisks are Egyptian and Pagan in origin there for a "Religious symbol".The obelisk symbolized the sun god Ra, and during the brief religious reformation of Akhenaten was said to be a petrified ray of the Aten, the sundisk. It was also thought that the god existed within the structure. So why is this symbol not offensive to the Athiest? Its still religous in its own right.
I would like others opinions on this

My first thought was "Are they aware of what it means?"
From my experience not all athiests are like that but some of them are diety haters in general. Christan God, Pagan God and Goddess, Flying Spagetti Monster... It doesn't seem to matter.
