I was thinking about this for a few days. By "art" I don't just mean drawings and paintings but other types of art such as writing, photography, and things along those lines.
A place for folks to share their creativity in all shapes and sizes.
I'm still working on some stuff to be posted but I thought this could be for anyone who wishes to post.

Art is created from talent, emotions and a need for self expression. If one is allowed to view the product of one's gift, feelings and travail; the product becomes a window into the essence of the creator and hence, in each of the receivers; mirrored infinitely with a merging of both. This merger is that which we call art....

I remember a teacher once saying "Not everything is art but everything can be art."
I've got some pencil art that I'm going to see about coloring in when I can get my hands on some colored pencils. I'm getting the good stuff and am going to get more than one set. The replacement pencils are about $2 each so I'm better off getting a replacement set and paying $1 per pencil.
I suppose I should start out with the explanation of my banner. I made it during a bout of depression. Mom wasn't well and I felt like I was in a crowded room alone.
I watched Master and Commander on TV and I liked it. I'm not a Russell Crowe fan but was suprised by the good performance of his.
The guy is Stephen Maturin. I feel like I can relate to the character both in the movie and the books. The woman is Fanny from Bright Star. I purposefully chose that pic because you don't see her face and I "hollowed" it out to make her anyone.
The background text is from an old journal entry written after a traumatic event in my life.
I suppose in a way I made it so that they can be anyone. There's so many ways of looking at it. Seperation, wanting help, anything at all.
I'm not too sure what the real meaning is if there is one. It's just something I made that I really liked.

Two Regency dresses I made. I don't photograph worth a damn but I liked how the dresses turned out. I made the dresses but commissioned the bonnet.

Thank you. The bonnet I ordered online and paid about $40 for the labor. I provided the silk myself.

Thank you. Yep, always grinning for the photos. Once I can get started on my 1860's dresses I'll probably try to photoshop one or two to look like period photographs.
The Regency dress pattern I have isn't that hard to put together. The lady who designed it even offers classes.
I've got a whole slew of things planned next. A female Titanic officer's uniform. I might make the Summer/Tropics uniform if I get enough demand or am bored and decide to go forth with it. That and I need good reference pics.
Just plain weird is going around and having a person sing "Titanic" by Falco as you pass by.

Hey at least there not singing Celine Dion. P High School flashback..... I was 15 when Titanic came out and remember that song oh so well. The version with lines from the movie were put into the song was most popular and I would hear that song on average once a day while going to, at, or coming home from school. I also remember the joke of "On the pieeeeeeeeer, in the caaaaaaaar, there you aaaaaaaaaare!"
