Thanks, I am excited. We will have a meet and greet and go to a area known to the members, which is supposed to be safe and good for training. An old country fella who worked in the woods, comes by and visits at the campsite. He smells like logger, woodsy smell...good experience for newbies, according to founder.

We had a trip last weekend to an old jail and courthouse. I did assist in an EVP session and had a cold chill go from my head to my toes ...the weather was very cold, but this was a diiferent cold. My temperature gage went down about 10 degrees. I was taking pictures of a building behind courthouse after one of my team members saw a shadow figure and had a complete battery drain on my camera. We will do evidence review after the first. I cant wait to see what we found.

I am SOOOOO HAPPY for you!!!! I remember my first few investigations... they were just so very exciting. Of course, those feelings have NEVER changed for me!!! It is something, I feel, I was meant to do.
I really feel like you were meant to do this as well!!! You are going to have a very life altering experience... by that, I "FEEL", that you will be able to assist in crossing a child. Those are things that make or break a good Investigator.
But I KNOW you have a WONDERFUL heart and an AMAZING ability to HEAL and CARE FOR OTHERS... This is for you!!!
With out overstepping client confidentiality, WE WANT DETAILS LADY, DETAILS!!! LOL!!! ;D

Thank you Shawn! If my baby is well enough for me to go, I will be going to an evidence review this saturday. I find that aspect very interesting. Analyzing the audio and visual materials takes time and patience, but this will be the first review I have been to. The fact that I was participating is incredible.
I have thought about the feeling you had regarding a child crossing over. I am apprehensive because that is huge. I wont back away, but was cautioned by my friend that child spirits can be "feral".My friend asked why I would seek out this life, seek out something that could be so dangerous, open doors that really never close once you open them. Ironically, said doors were opened at her home, to protect her family. I surely never once said, to myself, "Gee, today seems like a good day to start dabbling in the paranormal!" I did what needed to be done out of love. I certainly did not win any popularity contests doing so. She pointed out that I have enough on my plate dealing with life as a single parent. Why would I put myself in harms way when I am all my children have? I really felt swell after that conversation. I dont think there is a matter of choice. I can prepare or walk blindly. I joined a paranormal investigation team to learn, get experience and possibly be there for someone else who has nowhere to turn. I strongly feel like I need experience and a support system/network where the paranormal is concerned.
What are your thoughts on this child spirit? I need to be prepared so I will not make a misstep. You have been invaluable to me this last year when I was pretty much on my own. I trust your insights and appreciate your confidence in me! : ) Any thoughts from you ladies, Erin and Gyspy, are also needed and appreciated, as y'all have so been there for me as well since joining this forum.

You search because you seek the truth. A paranormal group is a good spot to be for research and support as others are there with you.
A lot of the paranormal is you don't lead the dance, they do and quite often you have to go with them.
You've got to follow your own instincts and gut.

Angelica all your questions and worries are valid. But I have a question to ask you. When a Ostridge sticks its head in the sand is the threat really gone? Just because you go looking for spirits/paranormal does not put you in a position to be attacked. In Anthony Hopkins new film "The Rite" he says "Choosing not to believe in the Devil wont protect you from him" Those are powerful words and need further exploring by people like yourself who have doubt and seek truths. If this is your path Angelica dont leave it through fear of unknown.

I was recently asked by a paranormal group here in Iowa to help with a client who claims possession. I believe the situation was just a bit overwhelming talking to them it seemed there just intrested in paranormal claims that are minor or easly debunked. So basically I asked if they have determined if in fact the "said person" was in fact possessed. Or if my job was also to determine this. So they asked by what measure can I determine for sure if in fact "said person" was possessed. I said in reply; I like to stay with the 5 rules of the Catholic diocese. They in return said they didnt want me to determine possession "But to remove the Demon". I explained I wasnt going to run a circus for them. So then they asked my faith, and went on to tell me how I was going to burn in hell. I hung up and am going to make some calls to the BBB, Local TV stations, there affiliates, and who ever else I can think of to have them stopped before they do more harm then good. Wish me luck LOL.

Good luck!
Going forth with trying to get rid of a demon without any proof of posession is dangerous. The person could easily be harmed or in extreme cases killed.

geez, client first is golden rule...they should have been happy to have some help, since they werent equipped. Meanwhile a person is in personal crisis/jeapordy while theyre running around doing lots of nothing. Urgency is the word of the day with this one. Good luck Gypsy.

exorcisms gone wrong to the point of death though is rare. Mostly causes is weakness no nurishment for the person who is sick or some idiot holding down the person. I believe first in identification then going slowly if I believed there was a possession I wouldnt preform nothing without a medical work up of the patient in question. Also I dont believe in pushing or screaming or any dramatics, if I see anger or agressive behavior from the patient its better to take a break walk out get a drink of water, smoke whatever to calm me down and give patient a break then go back to it. I rarely say anything aloud try to make a connection with energy work the person through it from there. Not scare the crap out of them to me negative spirits is like a Child with a temper tantrum. Becoming agressive and angry yourself only feeds the thing. Remaining calm relaxed and in control of the situation always works best. I think this grp was very young and thought somehow they hit the holy grail of cases. They asked if they could record it etc, Publicity stunt more or less I havent heard back from them for all we know the entire situation might have been manipulated.
