daughter in hospital

Hey everybody!
My 15 yr old daughter abby is in hospital. She has trigeminal neuralgia(severe unrelenting nerve pain in cheek). We admitted last night. trying to find specialists to help. Meds arent working. Pain meds mask, but not stopping pain. She has been hospitalized for weeks at a time twice once in 2004 and in 2008. It gets so bad she cant eat and drink by mouth and has to have iv meds and fluids.She told me that she couldnt continue to bear this pain and is giving up hope. I was browsing this disorder online and it is callled "the suicide disease". I am fighting to keep her hope alive and thus her. She has always been a fighter and is speaking up for herself, which is good.

Thanks so much, we should discharged tommorrow. Poor baby is getting relief with dilaudin, she is better but surgery or some proceedure is in the future. She cabt keep on enduring this kind of pain indefinitely without hope for an end in sight, I appreciate y'all!

That's good that she's getting discharged! We do heal much better in a place that we like.

My baby was discharged friday evening, we have been settling in. She is really no better, the hospital managed the pain with heavy iv pain meds. We discharged with pain medicine for home. She is continuing with neurotin /tegretol. She is ready to find a proceedure and move forward. She is a brave young lady.
tommorrow its back to work and following up on referral to Children's Hospital.

It may not be much of any comfort but at least she's not any worse.
