Thank you for the kind words. It is so very appreciated.
The doctor is off on the weekend so hopefully we'll hear back from him on Monday to set up an appointment.
Thankfully it was caught early so it shouldn't require as brutal a treatment.

Hi. Sorry to impose, I just wanted to suggest reaching out to the Leukemia and Lymphomia Society (LLS). The are a huge non profit organization and offer a lot of help for not only patients, but families. The also fund a great deal of research. My city alone raised over $800,000 this year for them through Light the Night. Best wishes*

My parents are talking to their social worker to see what can be done. It never hurts to ask.

Dad left me a message.
We don't know when she'll go back to the hospital but we're looking at a month long stay there.
There's a 60% chance with treatment it'll go into remission, 20% chance of treatment being a cure, and a 50% chance she'll be alive by this time next year.

Mom goes in for treatment starting sometime tomorrow. She'll probably be taken to the hospital after Dad gets off work and I imagine they'd start the chemo right away or let her spend the night and start it the next.
We've worked out a schedule where Dad will be coming home once a week. He's been working three to four days a week lately so he plans on getting the early shift as much as possible so he's off by the afternoon. He'll spend the rest of the day with Mom until visiting hours are over. After that he'll go to his mother-in-law's house to spend the night. Everyone's discussed the issues and everything has been set out.
I'd imagine Dad would be coming home Friday or Saturday for a day. He's off Monday and Sunday so those are the days he can spend all day with Mom.

At least everything is in motion now. The percentages arent what one would like to hear. 100% would be best, but at the very least, the numbers arent at the bottom. Keeping yall in my prayers. : )

If anyone can pass the donation link around that would be a huge help.
There's definately something watching out for Mom. She's been badly neutrapenic ((white blood cell count)) for three weeks now and yet she has not once gotten sick. She's in a private room and the neutrapenic part is at the point even a head cold is a potential death sentance.

Tomorrow, if all goes according to plan, it will be Mom's last chemo treatment.
They're doing a different type of treatment this time and hope to keep the damaging effects to the heart at a minimum.
Dad's really going to be watching her. It's weird because a lot of cancer patients will have trouble during the chemo treatment. Mom breezes right through it and will have massive problems a week after.
As it's a different treatment hopefully the problems won't happen.
The doctors are still on the fence about doing another bone marrow transplant. That's probably for safety though as it's a shock to the body and they won't do it unless they feel the body can take it.

Thank you.
Mom's chemo treatment is done however she has developed an infection.
She's currently stable though severely neutropenic and in the I.C.U. They've got her on massive anti-biotics. Whatever is considered the preying mantis of the medicine world they're giving it.
Mom is concious and communicating. Dad said she's told the doctor she's not in any pain or discomfort.
It is bizzare...for each chemo treatment she has gotten an infection. I realize hospitals are full of germs but somehow it seems so strange.
