Mom's being treated for a fungal pneumonia. To make sure there's no infection hiding somewhere they've put Mom through a CAT scan and now are doing an ultrasound of her organs.
They're leaving no stone unturned.
I had an ultrasound done on my lungs once. I was originally supposed to have an x-ray but the machine broke the day before and they really needed a picture of my lungs. The doctors thought I had pneumonia but thankfully I didn't.
So they did the ultrasound. All I can remember of it was being bored and annoyed that they wouldn't let me see the screen to see what it looked like.

Mom's really very emotionally fragile right now. She'll be fine one moment then upset the next. It's really a take it one moment at a time sort of situation.

If this year isn't the death of me I'll be writing about it.
Yesterday Grandma took a bad fall and broke four ribs. Thankfully my parents were there and Dad got her to the hospital. Grandma is being released today so Mom and Dad had to leave early to get her.
We're lucky to have a mellow boss as Dad can't go to work tomorrow.
Mom's emotions are up and down but she is getting stronger physically.

It has been a emotional draining year for us all. I am so sick of the emotional blows, Just when you think things are getting better shit always happens. I think its safe to say we are all being tested at this point.

Testing is a good way to describe it. It sure does feel like it.

Mom's off one of her medications now. It was making her violently ill and Dad told her not to take it and he called the doctor.
Apparently she didn't have to take it in the first place! Mom and Dad are displeased but glad she doesn't have to take that one medicine anymore.

The doctors are saying they want to start the ball rolling for the transplant in about a week.
After that it's chemo/radiation treatment for a week and then the transplant. Mom will be at her mother's for at least the next 100 days.

Blue Shield canceled Mom's insurance! They had been paid up for the month of March, took the money, the pay cleared, but they said her insurance was terminated March 1st.
We can get a program starting April 1st but it's $800 a month.
Mom needs chemo tomorrow followed by another transplant. We're looking at $100,000 plus for the total bill.
I've written any politician who has power in the state of CA as well as President Obama hoping someone can do something.
